Since 2004, Carlos Santiago has led a remarkable transformation at
the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. With a strategy focused on
increasing research of service to the community while preserving the
University’s reputation as an urban educational institution,
Chancellor Santiago has brought new stature and strong growth to
UWM.
Joined by Vice Chancellor of University Relations Tom Luljak,
Chancellor Santiago will discuss the University’s overall goals and
progress in recent years, including how communications have
contributed to making his vision a reality for the Milwaukee
community, the region and beyond.

UW-Whitewater PRSSA Chapter
Looking for Sponsors
The UW-Whitewater PRSSA chapter is hosting the PRSSA Midwest District
Conference on April 24 and they need your help! The students are looking
for PR professionals and businesses to sponsor a student for the event.
Tax deductible sponsorships cost as little as $25 and are a great way to
give back to the profession. Plus, all sponsors will be listed in the
event program. Click here to download a sponsor form. All donations must
be received by April 1.
Dorothy Thomas Black Award
The Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter of PRSA is now accepting
nominations for the 2010 Dorothy Thomas Black Award. Any nominee
must meet the following criteria:
- At least 15 years of full-time experience in public
relations.
- Has been accredited in public relations (APR) for at least
six years (thereby demonstrating a solid commitment to the
profession).
- An active chapter member, meaning the candidate has
been very supportive and has contributed significantly to the
chapter in meaningful ways.
- Has provided public relations service to the local community
(volunteer or pro-bono work outside of normal work assignments).
- Has demonstrated sustained superior professional public
relations capabilities (e.g. creating greater public
understanding of issues through sound application of public
relations).
- Has demonstrated sustained leadership in public relations.
Please note that in order to qualify for the Dorothy Thomas Black
Award, the candidate cannot be nominated by a co-worker or a family
member. Nominations must be received by March 1, 2010. To
nominate someone for the Dorothy Thomas Black Award, write a brief

area businesses and corporations to:
- provide top-notch speakers on cutting-edge topics for our
monthly programs.
- underwrite our Holiday Party.
- help fund the Paragon Awards banquet.
- fund attendance for Chapter luncheons by PRSSA members.
