 At Our Next Meeting …

Business Ethics: Fact, Fiction and Future

Since a series of colossal business scandals shocked the world in recent years -- including the largest accounting frauds in U.S. history -- the climate of ethics in business has changed dramatically.  Dr. Eugene Laczniak, Professor of Business at the Straz College of Business Administration at Marquette University, will share his observations about the changes in business ethics, the future of corporate responsibility in America, and the essentials of ethical behavior for the business practitioner.

Dr. Laczniak holds degrees from Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He has published over 100 articles and papers, including placements in such publications as the Journal of Marketing and Journal of Business Ethics.  He has co-authored six books, including Ethical Marketing.  His main areas of research are ethics and the influence of competitive strategy upon society.  Dr. Laczniak was a member of the editorial review board of the Journal of Marketing for 15 years and currently serves on four other editorial review boards. He has served as a member of the board of directors of several local, not-for-profit organizations including the Wisconsin Better Business Bureau and the Milwaukee Catholic Home.

If you have an idea or tip that makes life easier for you in the PR world, pass it along and we’ll include it in a future issue. Subject matter is open to just about anything that can make our jobs easier, more effective or more purposeful. Graphics and photos are acceptable if they help explain your point.
