Trends in Content Marketing

2015 was a year of titanic change in digital marketing. Banner ads continue to decline in performance. Social media channels have been changing the rules of engagement, often to the detriment of brands. A growing number of organizations have embraced content marketing, but have a long way to do before they can do it well. Many publishers are fighting for survival, and are experimenting with new forms of paid content, such as native ads and sponsored content. It has been a crazy year, and 2016 promises to be just as turbulent.

Chuck Frey from the Content Marketing Institute (CMI) will join us at the January PRSA Milwaukee luncheon to present 8 trends in content marketing that you ought to be aware of going into the new year. He’ll discuss:

  • The need for less content velocity and greater quality
  • How focusing on fewer social channels can pay off
  • The dawn of the “content brand”
  • Deliver true mobile customer experiences
  • The impact of ad blockers on marketing
  • The continued unpredictability of the major social channels
  • Why you ought to focus on building an addressable audience
  • Why your marketing team needs to think like a publisher
