Lindsey McKee – President & Diversity & Inclusion Committee Chair
Lindsey McKee is serving as President and Diversity & Inclusion Committee Chair for PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin. Lindsey joined the communications team at VISIT Milwaukee as a communications manager in 2018. She works with travel writers as well as meeting and convention planners to showcase the best of the Greater Milwaukee area and increase the economic impact of tourism in the region. Ms. McKee came to VISIT Milwaukee from Northwestern Mutual, where she served as a content manager and senior communications specialist. She has also worked as a freelance writer for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel since 2014. Previously, Ms. McKee has worked as a communications specialist for UnitedHealthcare, an advertorial coordinator for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and a short-term visitor services assistant for the Milwaukee Public Museum. She received her bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Marquette University in 2006.
Christine Dunbeck – Immediate Past President
Christine Dunbeck is the immediate Past President of the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter. Christine is the Director of Brand Strategy & Digital Innovation at MARS Solutions Group, where she focuses on building and executing scalable communications strategies for the company’s two main business areas, high quality IT and engineering talent recruitment as well as software development and deployment. Prior to MARS, Christine worked in the nonprofit, technology, and SaaS sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational and Professional Communication, as well as a music minor in percussion, from UW-La Crosse.
Amy Freeze – Secretary
Amy Freeze is serving as Secretary for the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter. Amy is a writer and producer at Plum Media. She oversees the creative process during the production of podcasts, videos, and events. She also provides public relations support for both Plum Media and John McGivern’s Main Streets. Prior to Plum Media, Amy worked in public relations as well as broadcast news where she was a TV news producer. Amy holds a BA in communications and media relations from St. Norbert College.
Katharine Foley – Membership Chair
Katharine Foley is the membership chair of the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter. Katharine is a PR Advisor at Kane Communications Group. Her responsibilities include supporting the firm’s client teams by drafting and editing communications material, managing media relations efforts and providing strategic counsel. She has international experience working at an agency in Buenos Aires, Argentina and spending a year abroad in Honduras.
Angela Hersil – Treasurer
Angela Hersil, APR, serves Treasurer for the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter. She is the Head of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs for Zurn Water Solutions where she is responsible for communications strategy, corporate reputation, issues management, media relations, sustainability strategy and communications, internal communications, corporate philanthropy and employee volunteerism. Angela joined Zurn Water Solutions in 2015 from SC Johnson where she served as Director, Global Public Affairs. Prior to joining SC Johnson, Angela served as Director, Investor Relations and Financial Communications for Whirlpool Corporation. Angela has also held communications positions with Omnicare, Inc. (now part of CVS) and Snap-on Incorporated. Angela holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a master’s degree in business administration from Marquette University. She is a member of the Rexnord Foundation board of directors and a member of the Hunger Task Force Executive Council.
Ryan Nolan – Director-at-Large – Marketing
Nolan serves as global public relations program manager for Johnson Controls.
Ryan joined Johnson Controls in 2015, has a vast background in communications and is passionate about sharing stories that positively impact customers and stakeholders. Ryan’s duties include managing external resources in the development of communications programs, thought leadership and third-party stakeholder outreach for business/products. Nolan is the primary media contact for Johnson Controls —Building Technologies & Solutions.
Before joining Johnson Controls, Nolan served as the public relations manager for a national cable television network and also served as the communications manager for the PGA of America (2010 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits). Nolan began his professional career in television news/sports. He spent 12 years in television sports working at stations in Davenport, Ia., Green Bay, Wis., and Milwaukee.
Ryan graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh with a bachelor’s degree in Radio/TV/Film Communications. Ryan also holds a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) from West Virginia University. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and an active volunteer in his community.
McKenna Carrigan – Director-at-Large – PR Palooza
McKenna Carrigan serves as the Content Coordinator at Dental Associates, Wisconsin’s largest family-owned dental group. In this role, McKenna creates engaging website content while collaborating with the marketing team on new and exciting social media content. She is also responsible for media relations for all 14 clinics. Previously, McKenna worked at The University Club of Milwaukee as the Membership and Marketing Manager where she was responsible for all email communications to members including designing all marketing and event materials as well as the quarterly magazine. McKenna holds a Bachelor of Arts-Journalism and Mass Communication in public relations and graphic design from Drake University and is currently pursuing her Masters in Business Administration at Cardinal Stritch University.
Lynn Griffith – Director-at-Large – Community Service
Lynn Griffith serves as assistant vice president of university communication at Marquette University, the largest private university in Wisconsin and a US News & World Report top-100 university in the nation. In this role, Lynn leads a team of communication professionals responsible for media relations, internal communication, strategic messaging, social media and issues management. Previously, Lynn was a vice president at Reputation Partners Communications and helped found the firm’s Milwaukee office. Lynn is a member of TEMPO Milwaukee and serves as the PRSSA adviser for Marquette.
Don Klein – Director-at-Large – Midwest District Liaison
Don Klein serves as the director at large with a marketing focus for the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin chapter. He is Senior Director of Public Affairs for Bethesda, a national organization serving people with developmental disabilities, overseeing all aspects of corporate communications, and previously worked for Aurora Health Care and Associated Banc-Corp. A Marquette University graduate, Don was president of the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin chapter in 2013.
Patrick McSweeney, APR, Fellow PRSA – Ethics Officer & Accreditation Chair
Patrick McSweeney, APR, Fellow PRSA, has been involved in PRSA for more than two decades and is the Ethics Officer and Accreditation Chair for the Southeastern Wisconsin chapter and also is chair-elect for PRSA’s Midwest District and co-vice chair for PRSA’s national Diversity & Inclusion committee. He served as our chapter president in 2018 and also twice served as president of PRSA’s North Florida chapter prior to relocating to Milwaukee in 2014. After earning a Journalism degree from The Ohio State University, he worked as a reporter, editor, producer and anchor at newspapers, radio and TV stations in Ohio and Florida before transitioning to PR. During the past 20+ years, he has served as the spokesperson for a government agency in Florida and worked with well-known automotive, high tech, retail brands, vacation destinations and others.
Heidi Fendos – PRSSA Liaison
Heidi Fendos has been running Fendos PR a full-service PR/Marketing consulting business since 2003. She specializes in tourism, education, retail and nonprofits businesses. She currently represents Wilderness Resorts and Waterparks and Ebenezer Child Care Centers in addition to many other small businesses and special events based in southeastern Wisconsin.
Prior to going out on her own, Fendos oversaw the PR department for a Milwaukee advertising agency for 5 years and served as an account executive with the same agency for two years. She also worked briefly with the Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau (now VISIT Milwaukee) as well as for the Independent Communtiy Bankers Association of Wisconsin which is based in Madison. Heidi is a UW-Whitewater graduate and was the Midwest District Director for PRSSA when she was in college.
