Katharine Foley – President

Katharine Foley is the President of the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter. Katharine is a PR Advisor at Kane Communications Group. Her responsibilities include supporting the firm’s client teams by drafting and editing communications material, managing media relations efforts and providing strategic counsel. She has international experience working at an agency in Buenos Aires, Argentina and spending a year abroad in Honduras.

Christine Dunbeck – President-Elect

Christine Dunbeck is honored to serve as the Vice President for the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter. Christine is the Marketing Manager at MARS Solutions Group, where she focuses on building and executing scalable communications strategies for the company’s two main business areas, high quality IT and engineering talent recruitment as well as software development and deployment. Prior to MARS, Christine worked in the nonprofit, technology, and SaaS sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational and Professional Communication, as well as a music minor in percussion, from UW-La Crosse.

Ryan Amundson – Immediate Past President

Ryan Amundson – Immediate Past President

Ryan Amundson is serving as Immediate Past President for the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter. Ryan has worked in public relations at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino since 2006, managing the department since September of 2016. In his role, Ryan oversees the  property’s media relations, public affairs and social responsibility efforts. Prior to that, he was a reporter and editor with The Freeman newspaper in Waukesha. Ryan holds a BA in print journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Katrina Schwarz – Treasurer

Katrina Schwarz – Treasurer

Katrina Schwarz serves as Treasurer for the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter. She works at National Fluid Power Association as the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications, where she handles all things social media, media relations, communications, and marketing strategy. She holds a Master’s Degree in Media Studies from UW-Milwaukee and has international experience working at a newspaper in Potsdam, Germany.

Tim McCormick – Secretary

Tim McCormick serves as Secretary for the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter. He is currently the Museum Communications Project Manager at the Harley-Davidson Motor Company. Prior to Harley, Tim served as Managing Editor of Milwaukee Magazine and Editor of Reader’s Digest. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism.

Allison Kucek – Membership Chair

Allison Kucek – Membership Chair

Allison Kucek serves as Membership Chair for the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter. Allison works as an Account Manager for Trefoil Group where she is responsible for the design, management and execution of strategic, integrated marketing programs for clients in B2B and B2C industries. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Linguistics and Economics.

Claire Koenig – Director-at-Large – Community Service

Claire Koenig – Director-at-Large – Community Service

Claire Koenig serves as the director at large with a focus on community engagement for the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin chapter. Claire is a communications manager at VISIT Milwaukee, where she works with domestic media to tell the best stories about the city. She has worked at VISIT Milwaukee since 2017. Prior to this, she worked as a senior editor at Milwaukee Magazine for five years. Claire also serves on the marketing committee for Sculpture Milwaukee, the annual outdoor sculpture exhibition along Wisconsin Avenue.

Emily Tau – Director-at-Large – PR Palooza

Emily Tau – Director-at-Large – PR Palooza

Emily joined VISIT Milwaukee in 2017 as a communications coordinator and, in addition to promoting Milwaukee as a premier destination for business and leisure travel, focuses on the data, analytics, and reporting side of the public relations department, proving the worth and importance of earned media every day. Emily holds a Bachelor’s Degree in public relations from Marquette University and was named one of Marcus Performing Arts Center’s 50 Future Women of the Arts.

Patrick McSweeney, APR, Fellow PRSA – Director-at-Large – Midwest District Liaison

Patrick McSweeney, APR, Fellow PRSA – Director-at-Large – Midwest District Liaison

Patrick McSweeney, APR, Fellow PRSA,  has been involved in PRSA for more than two decades and is a past president of the Southeastern Wisconsin chapter. He also twice served as president of PRSA’s North Florida chapter  prior to relocating to Milwaukee in 2014.  After earning a Journalism degree from The Ohio State University, he worked as a reporter, editor, producer and anchor at newspapers, radio and TV stations in Ohio and Florida before transitioning to PR. During the past 20+ years he has served as the spokesperson for a government agency in Florida and worked with well-known automotive, high tech, retail brands, vacation destinations and others.

Michael Pflughoeft, APR, Fellow PRSA – Director-at-Large – Ethics Officer

Michael Pflughoeft, APR, Fellow PRSA – Director-at-Large – Ethics Officer

Michael A. Pflughoeft, APR, Fellow PRSA currently serves as a Director at Large and Ethics Officer. He is currently the Public Relations Director for full-service marketing communications firm WaterStreet Creative and has experience working with some of the highest profile organizations in Wisconsin and beyond including: Harley-Davidson, Aurora Health Care, Steelcase, DentaQuest and Journal Communications. Over the past two decades, he has served in nearly every board position for Wisconsin Chapter of PRSA, including two terms as President. Michael is a member of the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) College of Fellows, a community of less than 350 senior PRSA members who have successfully advanced the public relations profession and distinguished themselves through their leadership in the public relations industry.

Annie Gentil, APR – Accreditation Committee Chair

Annie Gentil, APR, serves as Accreditation Committee Chair for the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter. She is currently Communication Content Lead – Global at Harley-Davidson Motor Company where she leads strategic communications to support and drive Harley-Davidson dealer and customer engagement. Annie works with a cross-functional team, including executive leadership, to develop and execute content that that aligns global and dealer communications with the company’s business objectives.

Lindsey McKee – Diversity & Inclusion Committee Chair

Lindsey McKee – Diversity & Inclusion Committee Chair

Lindsey McKee is serving as the Diversity & Inclusion Committee Chair for PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin. Lindsey joined the communications team at VISIT Milwaukee as a communications manager in 2018. She works with travel writers as well as meeting and convention planners to showcase the best of the Greater Milwaukee area and increase the economic impact of tourism in the region. Ms. McKee came to VISIT Milwaukee from Northwestern Mutual, where she served as a content manager and senior communications specialist. She has also worked as a freelance writer for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel since 2014. Previously, Ms. McKee has worked as a communications specialist for UnitedHealthcare, an advertorial coordinator for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and a short-term visitor services assistant for the Milwaukee Public Museum. She received her bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Marquette University in 2006.

Heidi Fendos – PRSSA Liaison

Heidi Fendos – PRSSA Liaison

Heidi Fendos has been running Fendos PR a full-service PR/Marketing consulting business since 2003. She specializes in tourism, education, retail and nonprofits businesses. She currently represents Wilderness Resorts and Waterparks and Ebenezer Child Care Centers in addition to many other small businesses and special events based in southeastern Wisconsin.

Prior to going out on her own, Fendos oversaw the PR department for a Milwaukee advertising agency for 5 years and served as an account executive with the same agency for two years. She also worked briefly with the Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau (now VISIT Milwaukee) as well as for the Independent Communtiy Bankers Association of Wisconsin which is based in Madison. Heidi is a UW-Whitewater graduate and was the Midwest District Director for PRSSA when she was in college.
