Senior Practitioners’ Coffee Klatch: Making of a big Bucks deal

This is a program senior PR practitioners with 10+ years of experience won’t want to miss. Seating is limited to only 25 people.

Although it’s still two years from opening, the $500 million arena that will be the new home for the Milwaukee Bucks is beginning to take shape just north of the BMO Harris Bradley Center.  The project is touted as a major influence to jump-start additional development that will change the face of downtown Milwaukee, making downtown a destination and attracting new businesses to southeastern Wisconsin.

jake-suskiJake Suski, Senior Vice President of Communications for the Milwaukee Bucks, will provide a behind-the-scenes discussion of how the team was able to quickly build support for the project at the local, regional and state levels. Suski helped direct the campaign to win $250 million in public financing for the 27-acre project now being built in the Park East corridor on downtown’s northwest corner.

Prior to joining the Bucks two years ago, Suski was a self-employed communications consultant in Sacramento, Calif., where the $556.6 million Golden 1 Center is opening as the new home of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings.  Suski has held senior communications roles for California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the presidential campaigns of Sen. John McCain of Arizona and Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, Rick Snyder’s gubernatorial campaign in Michigan as well as several political action committees. He splits his time between Milwaukee and Los Angeles.

Coffee and pastries will be served.
