With the rise in COVID-19 cases across the country and ongoing challenges due to the spread of the Delta variant, the decision has been made to move the 2021 Paragons Awards to an all-virtual format. Given the change in programming, the event will be held Thursday, Oct. 7 over the lunch hour from noon-1 pm. Registration is free.
Award submissions were judged by an outside panel consisting of members of another PRSA chapter – this year PRSA Pittsburgh was the judging chapter. Each submission is reviewed by two judges on a 0-50 point scale based on research to guide the program or tactic; clear objectives and target audiences; comprehensive planning and budgeting; creativity and execution; and evaluation against the stated objectives. Entries earning 40—44.5 points receive an Award of Distinction. Entries scoring between 45-50 points receive an Award of Excellence. The PR program with the highest score wins the Best in Show award. This year, we have a tie and will honor two Best in Show award winners.
PRSA congratulates the more than 25 local public relations practitioners for their award-winning public relations campaigns, programs and tactics.
Our 2021 Communicator of the Year award goes to Dr. John R. Raymond, president and CEO, for the Medical College of Wisconsin, and W. Patrick McSweeney, APR, Fellow PRSA is this year’s Dorothy Thomas Black award honoree.
PRSA will honor all organizations that secured an Award of Excellence and/or an Award of Distinction. And, our two Best of Show award winners will share campaign details about their winning submissions.
