Keeping Communication and Traffic Moving – DOT’s Zoo Interchange Plan

The Zoo Interchange – where I-94 meets I-41/US-45/I-894 – is the busiest roadway in the state. Dating back to the Milwaukee County Expressway Commission in the mid 1950s, the interchange is undergoing a massive redesign and replacement that began in 2012 and is scheduled to last another three years.

Join us as the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Zoo Interchange team explains how it communicates how the massive project affects tens of thousands of commuters, residents, schools and businesses such as Froedtert Hospital, the Medical College of Wisconsin, the Milwaukee County Zoo and others.

DOT’s Zoo Interchange team will explain how they work effectively with a variety of different audiences and media channels to keep people informed about the sprawling project comprised of a four-level system interchange and six service interchanges as well as improvements to critical local roadways while minimizing the costs and impacts.

Coming to the March meeting? We’ll be collecting toilet paper and paper towels to donate to Repairers of the Breach homeless day shelter in Milwaukee as part of our ongoing community service project with them.
