Paragons Award Luncheon

The 2015 Paragon Awards Banquet will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in the Woodland Dreams Ballroom. To purchase tables or tickets see below.

Our results are in! We are proud to honor over 30 individuals, businesses and local agencies for this year’s event.  We received nearly 60 Paragon award entries this year; thank you to everyone who submitted an award.

We are honoredcarol-weber-2 to announce the 2015 receipients of the Dorothy Thomas Black and Communicator of the Year Awards.

This year’s Dorothy Thomas Black Award recipient is Carol Seeger Weber, APR, director of communications and marketing, Wisconsin Dental Association. Carol is a member of the board of directors for the PRSA Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter, serving as director-at-large. She also is a past-president of the chapter and long-time volunteer with a focus on fostering growth of the profession by mentoring young professionals and encouraging leadership in others through the Accreditation in Public Relations program. She is currently board liaison to the chapter’s Young Pros section and participates in its Mentor Program.


StephanieKlett

Stephanie Klett is this year’s Communicator of the Year Award recipient.

While she has served as Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism since 2011, Stephanie has been promoting the state for more than two decades.

Under her leadership the Department of Tourism has earned an unprecedented 65 regional, national and international awards. Television ads featuring Bo Ryan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jordy Nelson, Henry Winkler and Tony Shalhoub have elevated Wisconsin’s prominence on the national tourism scene, and earned media efforts have generated an all-time high of $340 million.

During her 20-year career hosting the award-winning Discover Wisconsin television & radio series, Stephanie has logged more than one million miles criss-crossing the state. She has received eight Emmy nominations from the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and an Emmy Award for “Individual Excellence for On-Camera Hosting” in 2010. Prior to hosting Discover Wisconsin, the Beloit native represented our state as Miss Wisconsin.

Coming to the May meeting? We’ll be collecting plastic spoons and bowls to donate to Repairers of the Breach Homeless Day Shelter as part of our ongoing community service project with them.
