Valentine’s Day +1: Media “Speed Dating”

Do you have relationships with reporters, editors, producers and others at the region’s major print, broadcast and online publications? Do you know what different reporters and outlets are interested in covering and how they like to receive information?

You will after PRSA’s February 15 luncheon at the Italian Community Center. We’re putting a twist on our popular “meet the media” program – with media speed dating.

Reporters and editors from print, broadcast and online outlets will spend five minutes at a table with area PR professionals. PR pros and media will exchange business cards and media members will explain what types of stories they are interested in, when to call/email/tweet — and when not to. Then, at a given signal, media members will move on to the next table and the process will repeat. After an hour, you will have met key journalists, collected their business cards and distributed yours.

Confirmed media participants include:
-Steve Jagler, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
-Dan Shaw, The Daily Reporter and Wisconsin Law Journal
-Andrew Weiland, Biz Times
-Sean Ryan, Milwaukee Business Journal
-Thomas Mitchell, Milwaukee Community Journal
-Robert Miranda, Spanish Journal
-Lori Fredrich and Carolyn Buser,
-Jeramey Jannene, Urban Milwaukee
-Carole Nicksin and Daniel Simmons, Milwaukee Magazine
-Mike Spaulding, 620 WTMJ

Reserve your spot today – seating is limited and this is a popular event.

Coming to the February meeting? We’ll be collecting plastic spoons, bowl or napkins to donate to Repairers of the Breach homeless day shelter in Milwaukee as part of our ongoing community service project with them.
